Green Crowd Showcases 2025 EIIS Investment Opportunities: SRE Renewables and Eden Solar Farm Development

21 October 2025 – We recently hosted our annual Investors Webinar, sharing details of two exciting EIIS investment opportunities for 2025: SRE Renewables and Eden Solar Farm Development. The webinar was led by our CEO, Paul Browne, and Finance Director, Donal O’Shea, with a welcome from Operations Manager, Janine Donoghue.

This event brought together both current and prospective investors to explore how Green Crowd is opening access to Ireland’s growing renewable energy sector. We discussed how our asset-backed approach to EIIS investment combines strong financial performance with meaningful environmental impact. To listen to the webinar please click here.

Building a Platform for Real Impact

Our story began with a simple goal – to make renewable energy investment accessible and transparent. Having seen the barriers faced by early solar developers, our founder Paul Browne created Green Crowd to connect investors directly with sustainable infrastructure projects that deliver both returns and impact.

Since those early beginnings, we’ve grown into one of Ireland’s few Central Bank regulated crowdfunding platforms, with a European licence granted in December 2023. Today, we specialise exclusively in renewable and sustainable projects, from rooftop solar to community energy and social infrastructure.

We’re proud that every euro invested through Green Crowd goes directly into real assets – not fees, not overheads. Investors can view their projects, track progress through regular updates, and know exactly how their money is being deployed.

Why EIIS Matters

The Employment Investment Incentive Scheme (EIIS) remains one of Ireland’s most effective ways for individuals to invest in Irish businesses while benefiting from significant tax relief.

Under the current scheme, investors can claim up to 50% income tax relief on qualifying investments, making this an especially attractive moment to participate. EIIS investments are typically held for four years, with returns generated through project cashflows, refinancing, or portfolio sales.

At Green Crowd, we focus on ensuring that these investments are asset-backed, transparent, and responsibly managed – enabling investors to support the growth of clean energy while earning meaningful, risk-managed returns.

SRE Renewables – Unlocking the Power of Rooftop Solar

Our first 2025 opportunity, SRE Renewables, focuses on the installation of solar panels on commercial and industrial rooftops across Ireland.

Through an innovative “electricity-as-a-service” model, SRE installs and maintains the solar systems, while the business hosts benefit from clean, affordable power – often at a fixed rate below market energy costs.

This structure offers long-term stability for investors, predictable energy pricing for customers, and measurable carbon savings for the planet. SRE partners with experienced installers nationwide, bringing together technical expertise and robust project delivery.

With 50% EIIS tax relief available for this fundraising round, investors have a unique opportunity to participate at a highly favourable point in the project’s lifecycle.

Eden Solar Farm Development – Enabling Community-Scale Solar

Our second EIIS opportunity, Eden Solar Farm Development, is focused on developing a portfolio of small to mid-scale solar farms (3–15 MW) across Ireland.

These projects are designed to fill the funding gap for community and SME-led renewable initiatives – developments too small for institutional investors but vital for Ireland’s clean energy future.

Under the Small-Scale Renewable Energy Support Scheme (SRESS), qualifying solar farms can now secure 15-year government-backed contracts for their electricity, creating a reliable foundation for investor returns.

Our current Eden pipeline includes projects in the Midlands, Kerry, and Connacht, representing up to 15 MW of new solar capacity – clean power that will feed directly into the Irish grid and strengthen local energy resilience.

Governance, Growth, and Investor Protection

We take governance seriously. Our board includes experienced independent directors with backgrounds in banking, corporate finance, and regulation. Each project undergoes a rigorous vetting process before approval, and our team remains actively involved in asset management through every stage of delivery.

Unlike many traditional investment houses, we don’t simply raise funds and step back – we stay involved, managing the deployment, performance, and reporting of every project. This hands-on approach ensures that investor capital is both protected and productive.

Building Ireland’s Renewable Future

At Green Crowd, we believe in building real assets that deliver real impact. Our investors aren’t just funding projects, they’re helping to create the infrastructure that will power Ireland’s sustainable future.
