Sandford Solar Farm Reaches Key Development Milestones

Eden Solar Farm Development Limited (Eden) continues to make strong progress in advancing the Sandford Solar Farm, a ground-mounted solar energy project located in Co. Kerry. The project benefits from several important foundations already being in place, including full planning permission, grid connection approval, and close proximity to an existing electricity substation.

Due to exceptionally strong investor demand, the 2026 EIIS fundraising closed ahead of schedule, reaching its target of €1 million, bringing the total raised to over €3m. The capital raised will support the continued development of Sandford Solar Farm while also enabling Eden to progress additional renewable energy opportunities within its growing project pipeline.

We are also pleased to announce that the project has secured approval under the Small-Scale Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (SRESS). This approval provides a clear route-to-market for the electricity that will be generated by the solar farm and represents a significant step forward in the project’s development.

Construction planning and project delivery activities continue to advance, with Sandford Solar Farm remaining on track to commence operations in 2027. Once operational, the facility is expected to generate clean renewable electricity while creating long-term value for investors and stakeholders.

The successful fundraising rounds, the securing of SRESS support, the execution of key project contracts, and the continued strengthening of governance arrangements collectively mark an important period of progress. Management remains focused on moving the project towards construction and commercial operation.

As Ireland continues its transition towards a more sustainable energy future, the development of Sandford Solar Farm by Eden represents another important step in delivering locally generated renewable power and supporting national climate and energy objectives.
