Does your SME qualify for EIIS Funding?

As a small company you may be eligible to receive investments by way of the EIIS investment incentive scheme. Green Crowd raises funds for qualifying companies each year.  The Employment and Investment Incentive Scheme (EIIS) is an Irish government tax incentive scheme designed to encourage investment in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ireland.

Under the scheme, investors can receive tax relief on investments made in qualifying SMEs. The tax relief is available at the rate of 40% of the amount invested, subject to certain conditions and limits.

To be eligible for the scheme, a company must be an Irish resident SME with fewer than 250 employees and an annual turnover of less than €50 million. The company must also be engaged in a qualifying trade, such as manufacturing, IT, tourism, or renewable energy.

Investors must hold their shares in the qualifying company for a minimum of four years to be eligible for the tax relief. The maximum amount that an individual can invest under the scheme is €150,000 per year, while the maximum amount that a company can raise is €15 million.

The scheme is administered by the Revenue Commissioners and the Department of Finance in Ireland. It’s important to seek professional advice before making any investment decisions under the EIIS, as there are certain risks associated with investing in SMEs.
